Available Training and Certifications

1. HIPAA Privacy Awareness for Faculty, Students, Health Professionals and Trainees
   

   • From this webpage, select HIPAA for Pitt and non-UPMC Faculty, Staff, and Students
   • Then select the following module: University of Pittsburgh HIPAA Privacy and Security Awareness for Physicians, Mid-Level Providers, Dentists, Staff, and Students working in University of Pittsburgh clinical facilities, all Staff and Faculty working in other HIPAA-covered departments and all Students, Staff, and Faculty in the Schools of Health Sciences
   • If you do not already have a login and password, please create one.
   • Once you complete the module, you will receive a certificate. Please print out the certificate and keep a copy of yourself and turn a copy in to SPHERE at our first meeting.
     
     
2. Trainings at SPHERE meetings
   Representatives from different organizations and areas of research are asked to speak at SPHERE meetings to train students on potential projects and activities. Attending meetings will better prepare you to participate in local responses. Members who attend meetings regularly and obtain these certifications get priority for participating in space-restricted events.
